The IDEA league seeks to facilitate activities that strengthen the network amongst IDEA league researchers, board members, PhD candidates, students, alumni and support staff. This instrument is aimed at academic/research staff (PhD candidates, Postdocs, Assistant/ Associate and full professors) who want to organize a meeting/ conference/ visit that serves common research. Typically, it should be the kick off or the first exploration of the viability of developing a common initiative in research or education.
The budget can range from 500 to 5,000 euros. The budget covers the rent of the venue; the catering and additional technical support. The participants are responsible for paying their own travel and accommodation.
Academic staff working at one of the members of IDEA League can request funding a frontrunner activity. The requirements are
At least 4 (out of 5) members of IDEA League are involved
The activity can be a workshop, a conference, a visit, a tour, a competition
The activity should have the aim to strengthen or create a network among the researchers involved
The event must be the start of a future collaboration
The aim should be a follow up activity/ joint output/ joint proposal/ joint educational programme
How can I apply?
The academic staff member sends a short proposal (no more than 1 A4) to the Secretary General at (J.L.Zachariah@tudelft.nl) and to their local Operational Board member. The Operational Board decides within 6 weeks whether the proposal is approved.
After the event, the academic staff member sends an invoice to the treasurer of IDEA League, accompanied by scans of the invoices.
