Pre-study courses Applied Geophysics
Because our MSc programme admits students with different BSc background, it is useful to check whether your background has provided you with the knowledge of the BSc programmes at TU Delft, ETH Zurich, and RWTH Aachen. You can do that by comparing the courses you have followed during your BSc study with the BSc courses given at TU Delft, ETH Zurich, and RWTH Aachen. If you think that you want are missing something and want to come to level on some topics, you can follow courses from the list below:
Calculus
You can use the course The Essence of Calculus. This is the link to the introduction chapter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUvTyaaNkzM After this introductory lecture, follow with Chapters 2, 3, etc. And an extra lecture on Multivariable functions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrcCbdWwCBc&list=PLSQl0a2vh4HC5feHa6Rc5c0wbRTx56nF7
Complex numbers
You can use the lecture Complex Number Fundamentals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PcpBw5Hbwo
Mechanics
You can use the lectures slides from the BSc course in TU Delft on Oscillatory Motion, Wave Motion, Acoustic Wave Equation, and Stress, Strain, and Elastic Constants. Download the zipped folder mechanics.zip here and unzip it. The folder contains four pptx files. Open a pptx file and view it in presenter mode. Each slide contains detailed notes which explain the topic and guide you through the animations and movies (also in the folder).
