Urbanization, digitalization and general environmental changes make society rethink mobility. These influences affect people’s lifestyles and mobility preferences, but also bring a variety of new opportunities and technological innovations. It is more important than ever to ensure sustainable, comfortable and afford-able mobility, with technologies such as hybridization and electrification in human powered vehicles contributing to development. This year’s Summer School shall help to understand how mobility will change and offers the opportunity to exchange and discuss different expectations and opinions on a high academic level. In forward-looking lectures by internal and external experts from science and industry, participants will learn, what our mobility will look like in the coming years. In an interdisciplinary group, the participants will develop concepts to combine both challenges and opportunities most advantageously.

The programme aims to:

  • Identify the importance of multimodal transportation.
  • Recognise the opportunities of muscle-powered vehicles.
  • Developing concepts for the mobility of tomorrow.
ORGANISERS

This course will be supervised by the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika) of RWTH Aachen University, Europe’s leading institute in automotive engineering, whose approach encompasses the development of next-generation ideas and innovative concepts for components and systems up to vehicle-level prototypes.
