Summer Schools

Summer Schools

If you want to make the most out of your summer, an IDEA League Summer School is a unique opportunity to do just that.

Summer Schools

What to expect

Summer schools are always jointly organised by professors of two or more of our 5 partner universities. Usualy the summerchools take up to 5 days and physically take place at one of the universities. You can expect a combination of lectures, interactive workshops and group projects including lunches and dinners together with fellow students and professors. You will develop new insights into current research, connect and exchange ideas and benefit from the collective expertise of our partner universities. But this is more than just an academic course; it’s an opportunity for a fun and enriching experience that enables you to expand your European network and invest in your future.

FAQ

Only students from IDEA League partner universities can apply for the IDEA League Summer Schools. Application criteria differ per Summer School. Please visit the Summer School’s SiROP pages for more information on the application criteria.

The IDEA League is not able to decide on your university’s behalf how many credits you will be awarded for taking an IDEA League summer school. However, we make clear the investment in terms of time that you will have to make (usually 40 hours) and provide any information required for the university to make those decisions. Some summer schools will also provide optional extra assignments, if desired, which will help to justify the assignment of credits.

Some Summer Schools are open for a very limited number of non-IDEA League students. However, different terms and conditions apply and students from these universities cannot apply through SiROP. In most cases, participation as a non-IDEA League student is accepted only if nominated by the organisers directly. Please visit the website of the specific Summer Schools to see if this option is offered. If the option is not explicitly stated, then unfortunately, only applications from IDEA League universities will be considered.

No, BSc students cannot apply for the IDEA League Summer Schools.
